Two-way remote problems

I have a CX260 with a two-way remote, which sounds similar to the one you get with the new 300-disc player. I have put an IR transmitter and receiver in several rooms to try and get my multi room setup going but have been disappointed to find that the remote only works one way. I can stop, pause, play etc, but track information is not being sent back.

Has anyone got this working? I have tried tweaking the IR setup on the slinke but no joy.
