Tim,
I agree this IS complicated but it absolutely does work. Be sure to read the posting by Dan Shapiro (& Colbys' response) entitled: Tutorial: using CDJ with arbitrary remotes & devices - 5/23/1999. I would suggest to you (as Colby did for me) that you first try using one of the remotes for your Sony CD player and the Sonyir.cde device file. This will allow you to at least get some recognizable code to CDJ. Once you get that to work try your own remotes.
