Slink-e interferes with modem operation

I can't get the Slink Server software to locate the com port that I have connected the Slink-e to. It only has troubles like this when I am using the modem. The Slink-e is connected to Com4 and my modem is on Com2...there don't appear to be any IRQ conflicts there. I've tried adjusting all the settings and it just wont recognize the port with the modem running. Does anyone have a suggestion of how to resolve this issue?
