Thanks for the great description. I think you missed one key point though. If you go to all the trouble to make an input/output device file like you describe so well in your first section, there is no need to go into E-Z Learn and make another, more limited, transmit only file. The point is this: the first file you created (foo.cde) can be used to BOTH receive and transmit. That's the whole idea.

A second point - just because I don't have a .cde include file for a particular remote doesn't mean it won't work - you just need to do some extra work to describe the coding scheme.
