Sony says: Control-A vs Control-A1...

My S-Link/Control A1 pamphlet from Sony says:
Basically speaking, CONTROL A is not compatible with CONTROL A1. Certain CONTROL A components, however, can be connected to CONTROL A1 components using a special connecting cord.
CDP-CX151 Not compatible
CDP-CX153 Can be connected*
STR-G3 Can be connected*
CTRL-300 Not compatible
*Use the Sony RK-G139HG (1m) monaural mini-plug stereo mini plug connecting cord or a simliar cord (less than 2 meters long).
Be sure to connect the STEREO mini-plug to the CONTROL A component and the MONO mini-plug to the CONTROL A1 component.
