Problems sending learned IR codes

I learned the IR codes from my Lexicon DC-1, Panasonic DVD A310, and Magnavox TV. I saved the codes into separate device files and tried them out succesfully using EZ-learn. I then changed the code in the TVRemote visual basic example to use the learned device files instead pf the SONY device file. I compiled the vb source but when I ran the modified TVRemote there was no IR outputted. I know this for a fact because I have an IR repeater device that blinks an LED when any IR signal is within its range. I replaced the device files used to the original Sony device files, compiled and was able to succesfully send IR signals (again using the IR repeater). I'm almost done with my Home Automation project that I've been working on for a month now and I would really appreciate any help.
