Test if CDJ is alive.

Is there an easy way to test from a VB application to see if CDJ is currently running? Could you add another automation command like "is_alive" to query CDJ and see it it's currently running? Or better yet, test to see if CDJ is "awake" or "sleeping". This would mean the command would return three values, CDJ not alive, CDJ awake, CDJ sleeping.
