Pioneer receivers, control

I just bought a Pioneer D608 receiver. I've connected it and
set it up and have run in to a Slinke-related gotcha. The remote
does NOT have a goto-device button. It only has a cycle-thru inputs.
From the macro/slinke perspective, this seems really bad. Is it
just this particular model of remote, or do all Pioneer receivers
only cycle from the remote? The front panel has buttons for each
input. If someone has a Pioneer .cde with the goto-*-input commands
captured, I'd love to get a copy.
The pioneer "control" port. Looks like slink, but I'm sure is
completely different. Anyone have experience connecting several
pioneer devices together or controlling them by computer? (Please rReply
by email if this is too far off-topic, thanks)
