(whats interesting is I have one CD-text CD, I can make a digital copy of the cd, but the CD-text is protected!)

I've noticed the same thing. It would be cool if someone wrote a CDR program which allowed you to add CD-text to your recorded CDs.

Sony makes a program called "CD Right!" that's bundled with their Spressa
CRX100E/CH CD-Rewriteable/CD-R/CD-ROM drive (see link). I bought one of about three months ago from buycomp.com for about $330. The software is really easy to use and allows you to add CD text when you burn a CD-R (or CD-ReWriteable) disc. I don't know if Sony's cheaper CD-R drives have the same CD-Text encoding capability. I just checked the buycomp.com price for the CRX100E/CH drive and it is down to $292.95 (see link: http://www.shopper.com/prdct/682/752.html ).
