Re: DCOM and Win95 (Success)

Since seeing the chat here about the DCOM setup, I decided I would try it out on my PC's tonight. I had it up and running in about 20 minutes.

I went out to MS and downloaded the latest DCOM95 and DCM95CFG and installed on both machines. I then performed the configuration via Colby's help file with the following exceptions: under the applications security settings, I was unable to set any options as they were all greyed out. This was true for both client and server PC. The server PC runs a custom app of mine upon startup that loads the Slinke server. When running CDJ from the client PC, the slinke server is already up and running on the server pc. I see no indication of the slinke server on the client pc even though CDJ is checked to use it.

I do not have an NT server - nor would I want one! (No offense to anyone). I am running TCP/IP on my home network along with IPX/SPX. The PC's are connected to a Novell fileserver and each running Netware Client32 AND MS client for Microsoft networks. Both PC's are running Win95 OSR2.
