Wow. I'm suprised the MSB Digital Director behaves so poorly. In the prototype I'm building I use a Crystal chip to analyze the incoming data stream which can distinguish between a paused and playing Sony player without a problem. This way I can create a "switch to newest active" auto-selection mode. Of course with RS-232/S-Link/IR control, you can just tell it which inputs to go as well.
