Idea of a command script sounds good to me as .
Re the artist problem, could I suggest:
- for uploading all discs you insist on a hard reset of the player's memory;
- for a single disc you send the left arrow. All you can really do in this case is go for the worst case scenario and send 200 (yuch I know), but would be OK for a single disc.
