Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #2 Re: Why buy more than a CDP-CX220?Posted By: Brooks Talley <brooks_talley@i...> In Response To: Why buy more than a CDP-CX220? (Darren Stone)
I can't speak for the advantages of the 240/260 over the 220 in an Slink-e environment, but I can san that the ES players (70es and 90es) sound quite a bit better than the 200's, and also have a five year warranty (which may come in handy if you're going to be running them day-in, day-out). However, once you start with the ES's, you're probably stuck -- I was considering getting a 240 for my second player, but they sound different enough it would be too weird during shuffle play. Of course, the second 70es I bought (just about 6 months ago) is making weird noises when it pushes disks out of the transport and back into their slot, so I don't know whether to question the quality of the unit or be glad for the warranty (it may last another six months, or year, but it can't go on like this for years, that's for sure).
