The unit has a safety mechanism shut to shut itself off if it becomes shorted. Make sure the cables you are using are wired properly. Standard modular phone cables "flip" the wires over on the two connections, which is incorrect wiring for the Slink-e. You want to use / construct "data" type cables which are wired "straight through". That is, the wire color order on the two connectors is identical when both are held the same orientation. Colby
