Howdy
If you are using SLink-E I know of no reason to get a 450 instead of a 400.
I have a CDP-225, 2 240's, a 300 and a 400, I've had no problems using the 240, 300 or 400 as a master chained to the 225, 240 and 300. However since I now have a DXS I no longer chain my jukeboxes and hang them directly off of the slink.
