Accessing COM Port on Remote Computer?

I've got two computers networked and both computers are running Windows ME. I've got my Slink-E and CM11a attached to the serial ports on a remote computer located in my attic. Can I load CDJ on the desktop in my office and access the COM ports on the attic computer? If so is it an easy thing to accomplish?

I seem to remember an application called DCOM but thought it was only for Windows 95. Does Windows ME have this incorporated into it?
