My thought was to use a serial device that would connect to the PS/2 post & send the keystrokes - Not a light project - I'd give it a shot, but I use the cheap changers & view all my data in other fashions (web, client app, speech synthesis, etc.)
If the keybpard port is difficult with a keyboard, I doubt I'd pursue it.
