Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #11 Re: Potential Buyer QuestionsPosted By: Don Haberek <dhaberek@m...> In Response To: Potential Buyer Questions (Andy Tokash)
The only times you need to be connected to the internet is when accessing CDDB, getting lyrics or getting album covers. You first load up your changer and CDJ will go through and queue up every disc to get it's table of contents. For 400 discs it may take 2 hours but at least you only have to do this once, unless you rearrange every disc in your changer, adding one disc is pretty quick. Then you log on to the internet and CDJ can access CDDB to get the names of the the discs and tracks, some will include notes like band members and other credits. And if you wish, CDJ can go to a website and get the lyrics for most of your songs or go to another website and get the album covers. All the information is stored in a database on your PC, once you have it you won't have to go to the internet for anything. You can edit anything you like, just double click and type. For CDs I burn myself I copy and paste each track name from the program I use to burn the disc, you can do this all with the mouse, if your good at it then it's easier than typing it all in. If you burned the CD text on the dics itself, then there's no need to type anything. Don
