Yes, TIVO works with satellite. I'm using mine with the Dish Network. While TIVO has a direct connect (hardwired) to RCA/Phillips DirecTV sat decoders, it will work with other satellite and cable systems using an IR blaster.
As someone else stated, you may want to check with TIVO (www.tivo.com) to see if they support your sat provider.
