Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #11 Re: New Feature RequestPosted By: Tony Seiffert <ASeiffert@a...> In Response To: New Feature Request (Matthew Beckwith)
I second this request. When I purchased the Slink-e several months ago, I compared it with the Escient set-up. It was CDJ's greater flexibility, open source code, and Keith Alexander's PartyGUI interface that helped me with my decision (the price difference really wasn't an issue). I build my playlists and update new CD's (nearly 1,200 now) on my PC. But I play/select all music exclusively using the PartyGUI interface which is displayed on the main TV in my home theater room. As much as I like CDJ and appreciate Keith's PartyGUI addition, the two applications could be a lot easier to use and more functional if they were integrated. I think a daily interface that works similar to Escient's with the flexibility and functionality of CDJ as the heart would make this an even better product and one I could recommend to more of my less PC savvy friends. PS. Keith...if you're out there...any news on providing a method of jumping between the alpha menu and the CD covers in order to quickly go to a specific artist? It takes a while to get to Enya when you're sitting on White Zombie.
