Help?!?! slinkserv won't launch anymore.. :( :(

I get this message every time I try to launch CDJ or just slinkserv by itself. Occasionally it will start just after boot, but it will take 80-90% of the CPU and bog the system down past being usable (PIII-450 ~370MB Ram)

All I have done to the system since it was working fine was to install Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe (which I have since uninstalled..). I have tried uninstalling/re-installing CDJ multiple times going back to the 9-16-2000 distribution.

I'm running win98 SE, I have re-installed windows over the top, but the problem persisted. I'm at a loss.

Any help would be greatly appriciated... It's been over a year since I've tried to go to sleep without CDJ playing tunes for me, I'm not sure if I can live without it!! :)
