I can't disagree that the digital route is the best to go. But if you've already got the amplifiers and you're not concerned with the sound quality difference between digital and analog, then no, DXS is not the way to go. Let's see. I can spend $500 for DXS, 2 new amps at roughly $200 each, plus some cable, connectors, etc. can get me to $1000 pretty fast. That's a lot (of additional dollars) to spend to pump my audio to my garage, back yard and bedroom when I'm already doing it analog. My vote is for the mixer. I'll stay with digital in the main entertainment center and use analog for the rest.
