dvp-cx850d help

Somebody can help me with any recomendation in how to manage dvp-cx850d using the device file ? I need to program a database ? It's posible to use CDJ to keep the DVD information, like title, and chapters? I'm not expert with slink, but I have some programming basics. Thanks a lot JC
