Two tracks simultaneously

I have 2 200 disc players and a version 1 slinke.
Often a player will fail to go into pause mode during
a playlist that is optimised to alternate between the two players.
The result is two cuts playing at once.
Are there any solutions to this problem -- I am using the very latest
cdx on a 200Mhz Pentium with Windows 98.
