Wow. I'm really suprised that slinkserv finds you modem and passes all of the tests. I think the reason this is happening is that your modem is echoing everything bsck that is sent to it, and because the Slink-e command set is very symmetric in what sent and received, it passes many of the various loopback test done on the different ports. I'll see if I can't come up with a set of query/responses from the Slink-e which you modem would be very unlikely to come up with.
