Re: Upload-function to CDDB from CDJ?

It would be easy to have CDJ upload to the CDDB (in fact CDJ even stores it's library in standard the CDDB file format), the problem is that the Sony changers do not provide enough disc info to produce correct, exact CDDB ID numbers. CDJ is able to look up discs in the CDDB sucessfully due to the inexact matching capabilities of the CDDB server. I talked to the CDDB people and I think my plan is to allow users to modify and upload pre-existing CDDB entries (which already have correct IDs), but not create new ones (which would have erroneous IDs). The bottom line is that you need to put discs unknown to CDDB in a CD-ROM drive where you can get accurate frame information. Maybe its worthwhile to add CD-ROM drives as additional players in CDJ...
