Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #1 Re: cddb lookupPosted By: John F. Jones <jjones@n...> In Response To: cddb lookup (Scott Ferguson)
Hi Scott - I have had some similar results - when you do a 'locate servers', if you are connected to the net, you should get a list of CDDB servers in a window. Click on one of them (probably one relatively close to you as opposed to the one in Hungary) - that should select that server for your lookups. I am cataloging about 600 CD's and out of the last 200, I found about 30 that were not in the CDDB database. When I went to my CD Cataloging program, it found about a third of those in the CDDB. I submitted a bunch of new ones last night, and CDJ only found 4 of those this evening. I have been using the lookup for "all" disks which lets me select a range and have CDJ read all of them. CDJ seems to loose the slinke periodically and I have to shut CDJ down and restart from where it lost the slinke. I also have found that CDJ sometimes "loses" tracks in reading from CDJ, reporting them empty. Selecting an individual CD in the library and doing an individual lookup will usually get the whole thing on the 2nd or third try. I make a practice of checking all the new reads, but that's inconvenient.
