Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #1 Help me test non-CD S-Link devicesPosted By: James Miller <jamesmil_ms@h...> I've been having some problems getting my new Slink-e to talk to my TV or my DVD player via S-Link (and since my DVD Changer hasn't arrived yet, so these are my only S-Link-enabled devices to play with). I'm wondering if anyone else here with a Slink-e happens to have one of the following: - Sony KV-27V36 (or similar) Television, with S-Link input - Sony DVD-S3000 (or similar) DVD Player with S-Link input If so, could you plug it into your Slink-e and report what happens? The problem I am seeing is that with practically any combination of cable (mono-mono, stereo-stereo, including the one that came with the DVD player and the one that came with the SLink-e) or adapter (stereo->mono, mono->stereo) when I plug the slink-e into either the TV or the DVD player the light on the unit goes immediately orange and stays that way (and the unit stops responding to CDJ). If you have one of the above, could you try the following test: 1. Connect a Slink-e S-Link port to the S-Link port on the device 2. If the light didn't go orange as soon as you plugged it in, then: 3. Launch CDJ and associate the sls.cde device file to the slink port you connected it to. 4. Open the SLink-e viewer and in the command window type: sls:test[**OF] and press "iterate wildcards". 5. Report back any responses returned or if your slink-e also returns a solid light. Also, as an aside, I'd love to hear any other non-cd-changer S-Link (ie, non-IR) experiences people have had with the Slink-e. Thanks, hope you can help! -james Responses To This Message
