CDJ and TV (NTSC)

I have run CDJ and my S-Linke from an old 486-33 pc with a NTSC converter since the beginning. For the most part it works great. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard from interlink (www.interlinkelec.com) that are very cool. Most of CDJ works fine on TV display converted from 640x480 VGA. You can change most of the fonts in the Display/Appearance section of Win95/98 to be easily readable on the screen (except in the dialog boxes), and black over light gray or Yellow over black seem to work best. Avoid red colors if at all possible, since most NTSC/VGA converters tend to bleed red all over the place. And low-res (170x170) images can be stretched to half-screen (a benefit of the low NTSC resolution).

The biggest problem with NTSC conversion is over-scan. TVs actually "crop" the images to fill out the monitor mask. TV directors and editors actually take overscan into account when they produce content for TV. When you convert a computer signal, the edges usually end up off-screen, making maximized windows lose the title bar and status bar to the overscan.
